Chinese government hackers allegedly breached U.S. broadband providers, potentially giving hackers access to wiretap requests.



Reportedly, the hackers accessed information from systems the federal government uses for court-authorized wiretapping.


The hacking group, known as Salt Typhoon, targeted systems that handle court-authorized communication data requests, raising significant national security concerns. 


U.S. officials worry this breach could disrupt critical systems in the event of a conflict with China
